Professor Dr. André van Zundert, MD DM PhD MSc FHEA FRCA FASRA FRSM EDRA FANZCA, has a notable career in anesthesiology. In 2024, he received the Australian Medical Association ‘Excellence in Healthcare Award’ and the Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetist ‘ANZCA MEDAL Award’. He is the Professor and Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology in Brisbane, QLD, Australia, and is affiliated with the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and The University of Queensland, Brisbane. He also chairs the RBWH/University of Queensland’s Centre for Excellence & Innovation in Anaesthesia and the RBWH ‘Burns, Trauma, Critical Care Research Centre’.
Dr. van Zundert has published 530 scientific articles, 8 textbooks, and 80 book chapters. His scientific metrics include an h-factor of 55, an i10-index of 177, and 14,500 citations.
