Christian Falyar is the Director of the Ultrasound and Pain Management Division at the Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia. As a former board-certified vascular sonographer, he has been involved in ultrasound-based education for over twenty-five years dating back to his research with transcranial Doppler sonography in patients suffering from subarachnoid hemorrhage.
As Director, Dr. Falyar oversees the Acute Surgical Pain Management Fellowship, coordinates the cadaveric workshops, and teaches the regional anesthesia and point-of-care ultrasound curriculum for the entry to practice program. He lectures locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally on ultrasound related topics, and has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals.
He currently serves on the editorial board of the AANA journal and is the Chair of the AANA Foundation Ultrasound Research Interest Group. For the past twelve years, Dr. Falyar has served as the coordinator for the open ultrasound scanning labs at the AANA Annual Congress.
