KK (BA MN, PhD Candidate) is a Clinical Nurse Consultant at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Department of Anaesthetics and Director of Surgical Nursing Research at the Institute of Academic Surgery RPAH. She has worked in clinical research for over 7 years in the perioperative setting, is a current PI and AI on local research projects and an early career researcher. KK works as part of the department research team to conduct studies focusing on post-operative delirium, cognitive outcomes and biomarker analysis. Additional research topics include neonatal placental biomarkers, consciousness studies, depth of anaesthesia and quality of recovery in females. KK’s duties as a CNC include protocol writing, ethics/governance, recruitment, consent, patient assessment, biomarker processing, intraoperative experiments, patient follow-up, data collection, database management and data analysis. Recently KK has published as a first author and collaborator on three articles.
