Overview
This workshop aims to enhance participants’ understanding and practical skill in essential point-of-care ultrasound studies for the assessment and development of a perioperative anesthetic plan. The immersive hybrid course includes eight hours of didactic lectures paired with four hours of hands-on instruction. Participants will gain practical experience through live-model scanning sessions covering:
- Hemodynamic status evaluation
- Ultrasound assessment of gastric contents
- Confirmation of endotracheal tube placement
- Location of the cricothyroid membrane
- Lung ultrasound
Learning Objectives
- Demonstrate proper scanning technique for the essential PoCUS studies
- State normal findings for each of the essential PoCUS studies
- Identify abnormal findings and the need for expert consultation
