Dr. O’Sullivan is a relentless improvement facilitator. He loves providing anesthesia, teaching anesthesia, improving patient outcomes, and educating using mastery learning and simulation. Dr. O’Sullivan received his PhD in Health Services and Policy focused on health economics from the University of Iowa, his MSN with specialization in Nurse Anesthesia from DePaul University, and his BSN from the UI. He is a fellow of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology, past president of the NBCRNA, a member of the editorial board of the AANA Journal, and a senior advisor for the simulation in motion Iowa program. He developed the first crisis management simulation workshop for the AANA and has been conducting and teaching crisis simulation for over 15 years. He absolutely LOVES being a nurse anesthetist, an educator, and a simulationist. He is an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and all Chicago sports teams.
