Karina Kendall

Royal Adelaide Hospital, Australia

Karina has been a nurse for 30 yrs. at the Royal Adelaide Hospital; her background includes specialising in spinal injuries nursing before transferring into PACU. Finding her passion, she went on to complete post graduate studies in Anaesthetics and Recovery. During the 18 years spent in PACU, Karina was eager to address more proactive management of patients that were “falling through the cracks”. Karina volunteered to take clinical lead on the ARRC pilot trial that was initially run within the PACU. After a very successful pilot, Karina was appointed NUM of a new Model of Care now known as Advanced Recovery Room Care. Karina is passionate about sharing knowledge and resources to assist with other hospitals setting up their own ARRC.
