Dr. Joanne Donnelly

Dr. Joanne Donnelly is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), committed to nurse anesthesia practice and education for over 25 years. She serves as the Director of the Nurse Anesthesia DNP Program and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota, Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine, Co-Director of the National Veterans Affairs Simulation Fellowship, and faculty with the U.S. national Difficult Airway Course. Dr. Donnelly maintains a clinical practice and is the Chief Nurse Anesthetist at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Dr. Donnelly received a Master of Science degree from Columbia University and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Vanderbilt University. Her scholarly work focuses on patient safety, simulation, airway management, and provider wellness.
Donnelly’s contributions to the field of nurse anesthesiology were recognized in 2023 when she was inducted as a Fellow in the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology.
