Dr. Kathleen Fear

Dr. Kathleen M. Fear, DNP, MSN, CRNA, ARNP, is an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of Iowa College of Nursing and a nationally recognized nurse anesthetist. With over two decades of clinical and academic experience, she serves as Lead CRNA at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics Ambulatory Surgery Center. Dr. Fear earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice and Master’s in Nurse Anesthesia from the University of Iowa, where she has taught extensively in didactic and clinical anesthesia education. Her contributions include peer-reviewed publications, simulation-based learning innovations, and national presentations on anesthesia safety and crisis resource management. She has held leadership roles with the Iowa Board of Nursing and the NBCRNA, and is the recipient of multiple teaching and professional excellence awards. Dedicated to advancing anesthesia education and practice, Dr. Fear mentors DNP students and develops mastery-based curricula to improve patient outcomes and professional competence.
